Our Story
The name comes from ₦2,000 — the kind of small, everyday amount people ask for on the street in Nigeria. Not exact change, just a relatable one — the naira version of a couple of loonies and toonies, or whatever small bills and coins add up to a quick purchase where you live. We started by asking a simple question: what does that amount actually buy you for breakfast? Then we asked the same question everywhere, using a similarly small, everyday amount in each place — ~$20 in the U.S., ~180 KSh in Kenya, ~17 GHS in Ghana. Exchange rates shift, but the idea holds: everyday people, everyday change, everyday multiples of 2k.
